Alexis Julovich

I exist somewhere between a dancer, an artist, a nature lover, a graphic designer, a somatic movement facilitator, a yogi, an avid meditator, a writer etc.

My passions stretch beyond the singular.

I received my BA in Marketing from Columbia College of Chicago in 2019, where I also received a BA in Dance. My recent efforts have been breaking into the creative spaces of Indianapolis as a freelance Marking Consultant/ Graphic Designer under Invictus LLC. I have been consistently in search of creative domains dedicated to cultivating a network of innovative builders from all walks of life.

I have a multifaceted background centered on Marketing/Design that has led me to navigate industries through this lens as an entrepreneur in the Indianapolis area. This shift of focus has fine-tuned my experience in digital design and illustration and allowed me to gain more insight into what drives inspiration and innovation through the rich stories individuals tell. These pursuits have served as a process of weaving the unique energy of individuals into the fabric of their business. It is often a process of bringing them home to their authentic expressions.

Although I have forged a path in Marketing / Design, my deep love for art has always been at the forefront of all endeavors. I have a background in performance art and art-making that continues to drive how I operate in every industry. My love of expression and detail combine into a rich understanding of art through a myriad of mediums.

My work cultivating Soma, a somatic movement experience, began in the process of discovering the inexplicable connection between the natural world, the human condition, and the relationship of those elements to the body. I use the metaphor of the “body as archive”  which refers to the idea that the body can be understood as a “storage place” of corporeal documents and, therefore, a living library of incorporated knowledge. This work is designed to be a springboard for life. It is a place where the foundational work of taking refuge in the lived experience can be done. It is a practice that connects us to our life force. This process allows us to foster the ability to re-orientate the ways in which we relate to ourselves and subsequently the world around us. The ultimate goal is never to escape, but to experience a new lens of life through movement, breath, and awareness. It is my greatest pleasure helping others find tools to bridge the gap of disconnection from their life and help bring a sense of liberation into the body. I call this: being radically alive.

Enjoy sifting through the multifacetedness of my life. If you see something you like, let's chat!

Labeling what I do has never fully encompassed who I am.

ABOUT

Movement Artist Profile:

I am professional dancer and freelance movement artist. Since 2022, I have been an active member of Crossroads Dance Indy, a non-profit dance company. Coupled with the various styles of dance technique that I have trained in for over 14 years, I teach somatic foundations, floor work technique, and the intersection of all living styles of dance within the body through free-form movement.
